Otonomee proudly sponsors the 2025 Tony Boyle Business Success Awards
Otonomee was proud to sponsor the 2025 Tony Boyle Business Success Awards, hosted by the Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN) at the Irish Embassy in Lisbon. The Awards celebrate outstanding business achievement, innovation, sustainability, employment practices, and the strengthening of economic ties between Ireland and Portugal, values that strongly align with Otonomee’s own mission and growth journey.
This year’s ceremony marked a particularly meaningful moment for the network, as the awards formally carry the name of James Anthony “Tony” Boyle, IPBN founder and former Chair. Tony’s legacy, built on integrity, entrepreneurial courage, and a deep belief in long-term, relationship-led business, continues to shape both the IPBN and the companies within its community and Otonomee's foundational company culture.
As an Executive Partner of the IPBN, Otonomee was honoured to support an initiative that recognises businesses creating real, measurable impact across borders. The event brought together entrepreneurs, founders, executives, partners, and supporters from both Ireland and Portugal, reflecting the strength and momentum of the bilateral relationship.
The morning opened with remarks from Alma Ní Choigligh, Ambassador of Ireland to Portugal, who highlighted the continued growth in trade and collaboration between the two countries, followed by a welcome from IPBN Chair Geoffrey Graham, who reflected on Tony Boyle’s enduring influence and vision for the Network.

Celebrating the 2025 Award winners
Otonomee warmly congratulates the three outstanding recipients of the Tony Boyle Business Success Awards 2025, each of whom exemplifies excellence across innovation, sustainability, employment, and cross-border collaboration:
- Druid Sport, represented by Diarmuid Crowley, received the Best Overall Award for its highly innovative, globally scaled sports advisory model, its deep Ireland–Portugal operational footprint, and its embodiment of the cross-border ambition at the heart of the IPBN mission.
- PURUS, represented by Edmundo Alarcão, was recognised for its best-in-class approach to sustainability, heritage preservation, and long-term regional employment through a scalable, culturally rooted hospitality model.
- Lazer Telecom, represented by Des Wynne, was celebrated for its strong regional impact, customer-first ethos, and sustained investment in digital infrastructure, connectivity, and local employment across Portugal.
Together, the winners reflect the diversity, ambition, and resilience of businesses operating across the Ireland–Portugal corridor.
Otonomee’s involvement and continued commitment
Hilary O’Shea, Co-Founder and Chief Corporate Officer of Otonomee, attended the ceremony and was delighted to present one of the awards, as well as to meet with the winners, fellow IPBN members, Board representatives, and partners during the event and the lunch that followed, hosted at the Ambassador’s Residence.
Commenting on the occasion, Hilary noted:
“We are extremely proud to sponsor the IPBN Tony Boyle Business Success Awards. From the very beginning of our journey in Portugal, IPBN was instrumental in helping us build trusted relationships and navigate a new market. These awards don’t just celebrate success — they create energy, inspiration, and real opportunities for founders and teams operating across both countries.”
Otonomee’s relationship with Portugal and the IPBN has been central to its growth since establishing its Portuguese operations in 2021. Today, with over 600 employees across four continents, the majority based in Portugal, Otonomee continues scaling remotely as we invest in talent, culture, and sustainable business practices that enable people and companies to thrive globally.
Honouring a lasting legacy
The Tony Boyle Business Success Awards stand as a lasting tribute to a founder whose vision was rooted in trust, long-term thinking, and building bridges between people, businesses, and countries. For Otonomee, supporting these awards as an Executive Partner and sponsor was not only an honour, but a reaffirmation of shared values.
We extend our congratulations to the winners, our thanks to the IPBN team, Board, and partners, and our appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the 2025 Awards such a memorable and inspiring celebration of Irish–Portuguese business success.
